Who We Are
Technocademy Silicon Valley has served seniors and veterans in a community of over 5,000 individuals, currently operating out of The Villages community in San Jose, California. The chapter is currently expanding to more senior and veteran centers across the Bay Area.
What We Do
Over the past year, Technocademy Silicon Valley has put together a group of volunteers and expanded its reach within The Villages community. Various sessions have been held each month on how to use:
- Skype and Facetime
- Google search
- News sites
- Google Drive
Roma Gandhi is the current founder and president of the Silicon Valley chapter of Technocademy. She has been deeply involved with nonprofit work for many years, from volunteering with seniors and veterans in local hospitals to working with underprivileged children. Roma is also a member of her school's CareerConnect officer team, treasurer of her student council, and member of the Silicon Valley BEcon team. In addition, she recently placed in the top 5 internationally in the H&R Block Budget Challenge, earning a scholarship. Roma enjoys working with Technocademy and continues to help grow the chapter.
Mr. John Trudeau and Mr. Barry Sardis from The Villages help make these lessons possible. Additionally, we have a dedicated team of volunteers who help run these lessons.
